Texas Specific Resources

Each county in Texas is covered by a Local Mental Health Authority or Behavioral Health Authority. These centers coordinate with crisis line services to respond in their area. Use their website to locate your LMHA/LBHA for your area at this website:

Dr. Salazar has work experience as a case manager for community mental health and at a university counseling center at a designated Hispanic Serving Institution. She understands the need and value of having good, reliable, and consistent resources available. This is a list she has curated for local to Nueces County (Texas), regional, and national resources. However, as there is (not yet!) a case manager on staff for Strengthening Wellness, please do your research and verify application requirements, funding timelines, and if they are accepting new applicants.

Visit this site for an online directory of resources for community-based crisis response providers sorted by city that are available as alternatives to contacting local law enforcement.
