About Clinical Supervision with Dr. Ana

Pronouns: she/her

Congratulations! You’re ready to make the next step in your counseling career. Whatever your goals are as an Associate, I’m here to help you meet them! I’m working with Associates who want to strengthen themselves in a variety of areas: community mental health, college settings, public speaking, private practice, behavioral hospitals, doctoral counselor education students, athletics and injury health, research, just to name a few.

Supervision with me is:

  • Relational Cultural Theory focused supervision

  • Structured sessions through a Solution-Focused & Systems Approach lens

  • Advocacy & allyship focused interventionist

  • Crisis & suicide prevention specialist

  • Burnout prevention & wellness

  • Mentorship approach

Supervision Highlights

  • Individual and group supervision for LPC Associates from marginalized communities in the state of Texas.

  • 4-Hours of supervision per month via Zoom. (In-person for local residents coming Summer 2024.)

  • Flexible scheduling available for after-hours & weekends needs.

  • Fees are set at a maximum rate of $300.00 per month.

    • Individual supervision is $75 per session; group sessions are $60 per session when available.

  • Ask about career opportunities to offset the cost of supervision while earning income.

  • Phone consultations outside of schedule supervision at no additional charge when needed. (Up to 30-minutes per call.)

  • Unlimited access to Associate resource library containing training, worksheets, and other resources curated for former Associates and counseling graduate students in their own journeys. Access upon license upgrade remains.

  • Have a quick question? After hours text access to Dr. Salazar also available at no additional charge.

  • All Associates are provided with targeted suicide intervention training, crisis intervention training, and referral recommendations for higher levels of care.

  • Counseling training programs cannot cover all materials needed to be successful as a clinician. Special topics requested by previous Associates include CPS/DFPS reporting, completing documentation, case management, caseload management, and more.

It is never my intention to make supervision cost a barrier to continuing your career.

If we are a good fit for your career growth, please ask about my scholarships for supervision or site specific rates. Spots are limited per year, and it doesn’t hurt to ask!

Just as in counseling, the relationship is the most important piece of the supervision experience. In order to feel supported in your personal and professional growth as a counselor and as a helper, I am a firm believer that fit is just as important as supervisory theory and clinical approach. What you need to fit with your supervisor may vary depending on your theoretical orientation, your professional goals, and your target client demographic. Please take your time in selecting the right fit for you in this journey.

Be as picky of them as they may be of you.

Tips for finding a good fit.

Your supervisor should be your biggest advocate, your most constructive critic, and a stable piece of your support system. Where possible, consider your identities and intersectionalities when interviewing also. I know for sure there are not enough supervisors of color to meet the needs of all the Associates and upcoming graduates, so we sure don't have enough if you have more than one marginalized identity. Which makes the research and interview so important!

  • Do your research: read their websites, blogs, or reviews.

  • Interview potential supervisors: If they don’t offer interviews, this might be a sign they won’t spend time with you on your needs.

  • Ask for references or to speak to their current/past Associates

  • Consider which areas you want to grow or specialize in: where can they help you grow?
